How does the Recycling Process Work?

Yorkshire Metal Recycling collects the material from you in the first instance, and once we have done this, the metal is compacted so that it fits on the conveyor. The metal is shredded and broken down to be processed in various ways, depending on the metal. For example, steel is processed in blocks, while aluminium is processed in sheets. After this, the metal is heated in a furnace, and then purified. While this sounds like a lot of work, recycling saves more than 75% of energy, making it a worthwhile investment.
